superfoods in motion is a new(ish) meal delivery service in the greater Sacramento area. The food is a bit pricy for everyday use, but just right for an emergency meal here and there, and it sure beats fast food or crappy frozen meals from the supermarket.
Here's how it works: every week they have a new menu, with deliveries Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Different food is available on each delivery day. Don't be confused by their website that lists food every day of the week…that's just their suggested meal plan for the week. You'd go broke eating three squares a day this way, though. So far I've tried a couple each of the past two weeks.
They use local and seasonal organic produce, and organic free-range, grass-fed meats. They have vegetarian and vegan options available, and many gluten-free options.
My first order was Caribbean Jerk Chicken, which I had for lunch, and Dark Chocolate Waffles, which Gina and I had for breakfast. Both were good, but I think the chicken was slightly better.
Next I tried a Spring Roll and a Hawaiian Burger. The spring roll was tasty, but the burger was over-cooked and dry. They do offer a comment box when you place your order, so if I order any beef again, I'll be sure to specify medium rare.
If you're looking for an easy way to supplement your home cooking, for those days when you just don't have the time or energy, give superfoods in motion a try.
